Licensed & Insured

Snow work happens on your property, in the dark, with heavy equipment. Here is the proof that you are protected when we do it: our insurance, our credentials, and exactly how to verify them before you sign.

Protection You Can Actually Verify

Plenty of snow companies say they are licensed and insured. Fewer will show you the paperwork. We will. Local Snow Removal has cleared Cleveland and Akron properties for ten years, and every one of those winters ran on real coverage, real documentation, and a certificate we hand over before the first plow drops. This page explains what we carry and how to confirm it yourself.

Fully Insured

Commercial general liability coverage, with a certificate available on request before work begins.

Additional Insured

We name your property or entity as additional insured on commercial certificates.

10 Years Local

A decade clearing Northeast Ohio properties, residential and commercial.

Our Insurance Coverage

We carry commercial general liability insurance that covers the work we do on your property through the winter. If something goes wrong that is on us, the coverage is there to make it right, which is the entire point of hiring an insured contractor instead of a guy with a plow and a handshake. For commercial clients we provide a certificate of insurance before the season starts, and we name your entity as additional insured so your risk manager has what they need on file.

If you are a property manager or facility team, ask for the certificate up front and we will send it. If you are a homeowner, you are welcome to ask too. Being insured only matters if the customer can see it, so we do not treat the certificate like a secret.

Licensing & Business Standing

Local Snow Removal operates as a registered business serving the Cleveland and Akron metro. Ohio does not issue a single statewide license specifically for snow plowing the way it licenses trades like electrical or plumbing, so the meaningful credentials for snow work are business registration, insurance, and the documentation you get after every job. We keep all three current.

Certificate of Insurance for Commercial Clients

For commercial accounts the certificate of insurance is part of onboarding, not an afterthought. When you sign, we issue a COI that names your entity as additional insured, and we can send it directly to your insurance or risk contact. If your carrier or lease requires specific language or limits, tell us during the bid and we will confirm what we can accommodate. Start that process on the Commercial Bid page.

Why Insurance Matters for Snow Work

Winter liability is real and it is mostly about slips. A cleared lot with an icy front walk is where claims come from, and if your contractor is uninsured, that exposure can land on you. Hiring an insured company shifts that risk where it belongs and gives you a documented maintenance history to lean on. That is why every visit we run is GPS-logged with times, zones, and materials, so the record backs up the coverage. Our Guarantee & SLA page spells out the service commitments that sit alongside the insurance.

How to Verify Us Before You Sign

Do not take our word for it. Take the paperwork. Here is how to check us out before you commit to a season.

  • Ask for the certificate of insurance. Call 1-866-426-5222 or request it during your quote and we will send it.
  • Confirm additional insured language. Commercial clients can have their entity named directly on the COI.
  • Check our track record. Read real customer feedback on our Reviews page.
  • Review the service commitments. Our response times and standards are in writing on the Guarantee & SLA page.

Insurance & Licensing Questions

Are you really insured?

Yes. We carry commercial general liability insurance for the snow and ice work we perform. We provide a certificate of insurance on request before work begins, so you can confirm coverage rather than take our word for it.

Can I get a certificate of insurance?

Yes. Call 1-866-426-5222 or ask during your quote and we will send it. For commercial accounts the certificate is issued at onboarding and can name your entity as additional insured.

Will you name our property as additional insured?

Yes, for commercial clients. We add your entity as additional insured on the certificate so your risk manager or lease file has the documentation it requires.

Does snow removal require a license in Ohio?

Ohio does not issue a single statewide plowing license the way it licenses trades like electrical or plumbing. The credentials that matter for snow work are business registration, active insurance, and documented service records, all of which we maintain.

What happens if a plow damages my property?

If damage happens and it is on us, our liability coverage is there to address it, and our GPS logs help establish exactly what happened and when. We stake out obstacles before the season and mark driveways to prevent damage in the first place.

Why does insurance matter for a homeowner?

If an uninsured contractor is hurt on your property or causes damage, that exposure can come back to you. Hiring an insured company moves that risk off your shoulders, which is worth far more than the small difference in price.

Do you carry coverage for slip-and-fall claims?

Slip risk is the biggest winter liability for any property. We reduce it with dedicated walkway crews and calibrated ice control, and we document every visit so there is a maintenance record if a claim is ever filed. Ask us about the specifics for your property type.

How do I verify your coverage is current?

Request the certificate of insurance directly. It lists the coverage and effective dates. If anything looks out of date, tell us and we will get you a current copy before you sign.

Are your crews covered while on my property?

Ask us about our current coverage for crew injuries when you request your certificate, and we will confirm what applies. We take crew safety seriously because it protects both our people and your property.

How long have you been in business?

Ten years serving the Cleveland and Akron metro. A decade of winters means a documented track record you can check through our reviews and references, not just a promise.
